brunch

i know i owe you a review of the various places where we ate while we were in Boston and New York but my creative juices seem to still be on holiday. bear with me while i track them down and in the meantime here is a brunch we shared with friends shortly before going away.

the lemon and lavender madeleines were the first thing to disappear followed by plates of fluffy scrambled eggs. the bowls of fruit were eaten with honey-drizzled Greek yoghurt and then we finished with toast - my toppings included rose petal jam, champagne marmite and rhubarb and pink grapefruit jam.

a perfect sunday treat and a great alternative to inviting people for lunch.
